AWA FACTS

The Awa people live in the mountains of the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. They live in a very mountainous area as you saw in the slides. To walk to the nearest town would be a three days walk, then a day ride on a Public Motor Vehicle.

There are no "white" missionaries living among the Awa. They have asked us, but we just don't have anyone to send them. There is good news though, a man from the Aziana tribe moved in with his family to teach the Awa the Word of God. There are believers among the Awa now.  Pray for these new believers. Pray for their growth and for the Aziana believers as they continue to teach them.
